This week the stars were out in their finery, braving the heavy LA downpours, for the 67th Golden Globe Awards, and although the big winner Avatar came as no surprise to anyone, British hopes Helen Mirren, Emily Blunt and Carey Mulligan left empty-handed.

However, while we Brits didn't receive any gongs in Hollywood, Savoo has come to the rescue with some amazing deals that'll let you all travel the 'Golden' Globe in style without costing an arm and a leg.

Terrible Weather but a Very Happy Clickmas

Here in the UK we have seen appalling weather this Christmas week, with plummeting temperatures, black ice, and deep blankets of snow meaning most of us have decided to venture out only when completely essential. Of course, this means the shops on the High Street have lost out on your business, and in a bid to shift huge levels of excess stock, today sees an unprecedented number of stores launch their Boxing Day sales online. Yes, two days early for a lot of shops, with others such as Argos and M&S launching their sales a day early tomorrow. Even High Street favourite Next is succumbing to the trend, for the first time launching their sale on Boxing Day, instead of their more traditional 27th December. So to help you grab the best bargains, here at Savoo we've listed some of the top High Street shops launching their sales online.

Christmas Dinner Savings on a Plate

It's Christmas week, the tree is up and the decorations are sparkling in the glow of numerous fairy lights. The radio is blasting out all our favourite Christmas songs like Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody, Band Aid's Do they Know it's Christmas and - my personal favourite - Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues Fairytale in New York. And all the presents are bought and sitting in the back of a cupboard waiting to be wrapped.

Everything for Christmas 2009 is well and truly under control - well everything except the food, if recent statistics from Asda are to be believed. Their research suggests that the busiest time in-store will be at 12:17pm on Wednesday 23rd December. So, in order to miss the queues we've come up with the best voucher codes for you to shop online for everything from the first brussel sprout to the last crumb of Christmas pud.

Last Minute Shopping? Let Savoo Make it Easy

With only seven days left until Christmas, more than 25 per cent of us still haven't finished our Christmas shopping. Now, traditionally it's been men who have left their gift buying to the last minute, popping into the nearest department store on their way home from work (or pre-Christmas drinks) on Christmas Eve. However, many women now admit to not having completed their shopping with less than 24 hours before the most festive - and stressful - day of the year.

Skiing and Snowboarding Savings - A Robot's Guide

Okay, so this isn't necessarily a guide by or for robots but the video with its funky robot skier and weird musical medley, is cool. We just want to make sure that the skiing robots out there don't feel left out.

As we rapidly move towards winter, expectations amongst dedicated human and robot skiers alike start to rise. When will the snow come? Which mountains will be best? Will it snow at all? Where's my oil?

These are questions best answered by the snow report professionals so I will leave you to hunt down the best conditions and make your own choice of destination. However, if you would rather just jump right in and get the best price on any resort, check out our ski and snow deals section for some inspiration.

Once you've figured out where you would like to go, it's time to get down to the nuts and bolts (ahem..) i.e. how much will this cost me? This is where we at Savoo come in. Here are some great places to begin on your search for the very best deals on all things ski and snowboarding.

No Scary Prices this Halloween with Savoo

Halloween is the one night of the year where it's not only okay but positively encouraged to dress up in ghoulish costumes and knock on neighbour's door to blackmail them with a trick if they don't cough up some nice chocolates, sweets or other tasty goodies. Of course, it's all about getting into the spirit of the occasion so that the real witches, ghosts and monsters can have a night off (at least that's what my big brother told me when I was 5 or 6 years old!)

Now for those of us who aren't parents there probably isn't anything more horrifying than hoards of children in fancy dress traipsing up and down the path to your front door. And to those of us who are parents well, lets face it, the cost of this pagan festival just seems to get higher every year. And even the most hardened of us are softened by the sad little face of a 3 year old goblin turned away without any treat at all!

So time to shop Savoo for some great Halloween deals that will put a smile on the face of every witch, gremlin and zombie on your street.

Autumn Half Term (yes, already!) with Savoo

It only seems like five minutes since the kids went back to school after the summer holidays, yet half term is already practically upon us, and while summer wasn't exactly the best weather we've ever had, the last week in October is predicted by the Met Office to be wet and windy. Of course, most parents are fully familiar with the maths equation "rain+boredom = irritable children" (and by default even more irritable adults!). So the dilemma is this; How do we keep the autumnal storms outside the house this half term?

Shopping for Christmas Already?

As frightening as it seems, with summer barely behind us and Christmas still more than three months away, a study by Asda this week has shown that half of us have already started our Christmas shopping!

Now I love Christmas, it's one of my favourite days of the year (although Boxing Day is the best!) but even with 5 kids to 'Santa shop' for, I just can't contemplate the thought of Christmas in September. So why are so many Brits starting their Christmas shop so early this year? Believe it or not it's the new answer to Christmas in a recession - forget buying less, just buy at better times....

Summer Washout? Clean up your Finances Instead

This year a huge number of us have decided to forego a foreign summer holiday in favour of staying at home. Of course, while we all know this is partly due to the credit crunch, a lot of us (stupidly!) put our faith in the Met Office, believing that we were in for August sunshine fit to rival our European counterparts.

The reality of course is very different, with our blue sunny skies well and truly hidden by ominous looking storm clouds, and picnics in the park replaced by takeout in front of the TV! What better time, then, to use the washout to clean up your finances? See how much money you can save with these simple top tips. Who knows, you could even save enough to pay for next year's holiday
