Save 1% Every Day: how does Wiggle PriceDrop Work?

If you're looking for biking bargains and cycling savings, I strongly recommend that you take a look at the Wiggle Online Cycle Shop. They have a special sale, called PriceDrop, which is a first-come, first-served idea to push out some of the old stock. What that means is that you get to bag yourself some high quality, decent cycling gear for a fraction of the retail price.

Even better, the price goes down every single day. With the PriceDrop, the price decreases by 1% every day while stocks last. However, once it's gone, it's gone, so don't wait too long! However, if you're willing to take a risk on your purchases, you could wait until the price is unbelievably low and grab yourself a real bargain. Sometimes you can save a few quid on the essentials, whereas at other times you can cut the cost by hundreds of pounds. It all depends on what you're buying and how long you dare to wait. Right ladies and gents, things are going to get a little bit steamy in here so it's time to evacuate the kids. I'm about to talk toys… the kind adults play with. Yep, vibrators, dildos, masturbators and lube.

Don't be so shocked; the first ever vibrator was actually designed by a doctor with the intention to treat "female hysteria". Yes, back in those days, ladies with a nervous disposition would be taken to their GP for an orgasm.

These days, millions of people around the country have these pleasure tools stashed in their bedside cabinet or under the bed but we're just too polite to talk about them. Well, it's about time we broke our silence. Read More »

The way we work is starting to change. Thousands of us are choosing to set up our own home offices and trundle down the corridor in our pyjamas rather than facing the commute to work.

There are several cost-saving benefits to working from home, including the ability to set your own hours, avoid transport costs/formal office attire and being able to claim a portion of your mortgage or rent as expenses.

If you're looking to start your own business but are a little short on funds, setting up a home office can be the ideal solution. You are free from the huge overheads which are often responsible for sending businesses under and will be joining the 2.1 million home businesses that are already operating in the UK.

To give you a helping hand, I've put together a guide to help you kit out your home office on a tight budget. Just because you've not got millions of pounds at your disposal, it doesn't mean you can't create a professional business. Read More »

Make Your Own Febreze for Pennies

Like many people, I like to balance living frugally with living nicely and, no matter how hard I try, there are some little luxuries that I can't give up. Of course, like most 'luxuries' these are often overpriced and totally unnecessary.

Take, for example, air fresheners and fabric fresheners. I like my house to smell nice - not always an easy thing to achieve with 5 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. And I am a sucker for Febreze - by the end of the day, you'd never guess that my sofas have been walked over and sat on by messy teenage kids, dirty smelly dogs and politely farting cats.

But, at two quid a bottle in supermarkets like Asda and Tesco (and even more in other places), it's a luxury that's, quite simply, starting to cost too much money. The solution? A quick internet search and some experimenting has found me a perfect alternative that costs about 30 pence! Read More »

Drivers will have reason to smile a bit today as supermarkets slash up to 3p off a litre of petrol following the cut in diesel prices last week. The move, predicted several days ago by the AA, is in response to a drop in the price of oil and an increase in the pound against the dollar. Read More »

Hands up if you love a sale.....I thought that would grab your attention. Well, if you love shopping at Asda, I've got a little secret to share with you; Asda now has a clearance page!

Asda is already a firm favourite with UK shoppers because of its commitment to low prices which are lower than any other supermarket, but they now have a clearance page as well.

The chances are that you've never spotted it because it may seem complex to find the link from the home page. However, by entering 'clearance' into the search bar, you'll be taken directly to the sale. Or you can click here and get there even quicker. It's easy-peasy! Read More »

How to Make Your Childcare Budget Stretch Further

This is a guest post by Sigrid Daniel, the Country Director at Care.com UK, the world's largest online destination for care.

Childcare is expensive, there is no way of getting around that!

Every week we are reminded of the relative expense of childcare in the UK compared to other countries: we spend an average of 25% of our income on childcare, leaving us second only to Switzerland, that land of gold bars, flash ski resorts, cuckoo clocks and...expensive childcare.

So, if you both want to work, how do you manage it?

How To Make The Most Of Your Nectar Points

I've got a few supermarket loyalty cards sitting in my purse but I didn't realise that they could be costing me money! By not maximising the benefits offered by loyalty cards, we could collectively be wasting £5.2 billion by not reaping the rewards.

It's thought that around 20% of British adults sign up to loyalty cards without even realising what benefits they offer. Another surprising figure is that a third of us forget to take them with us when we're out shopping and so are missing out on hundreds or thousands of points. Read More »
