Last summer was the season for garden parties. The Queen's Diamond Jubilee was a huge national event that everyone got involved in. I don't think Britain has ever seen so many garden parties. It may be 12 months on but who's to say we can't experience that joy all over again?
Well, luckily for you, the guys and gals over at
Littlewoods have put their heads together and come up with a whole host of fantastic offers. Now you can throw a lavish garden party without having to splash the cash.

We are fast approaching wedding season in the UK; invites will be dropping on door mats across the country in the next few months heralding a load of stresses and strains, both monetary and emotionally, for women up and down the country. True, some men may worry about how they are going to afford attending a lot of weddings but very few will worry too much about what they are going to wear to each and every one.
If you are one of the thousands of couples getting married in 2013, then obviously you have a lot more to worry about. The guest list, catering, the venue, THE dress; all very important aspects to consider.

Most of us know we wouldn't be who we are today without our mothers which is why, every year Britons spend millions on Mothering Sunday just to make sure Mum knows how special she is. There are a lot of gifts available for Mother's Day but we're still opting for the more traditional including chocolates and flowers. Last year about £156 million was spent on flowers and plants alone so, if you're going to send your mum some blooms this Sunday, find out just what those flowers are saying to her.

One of my favourite and possibly geekiest pastimes at the start of the year is putting reminder notes on my phone calendar for each glorious bank holiday that I can look forward to over the coming twelve months, with the prospect of having seven extra days to add onto my annual holiday being more than enough to cure my winter blues.
Though it's unlikely that the first bank holiday weekend of 2013 will be a patch on the Jubilee weekend of 2012 – a full Friday to Tuesday's worth of revelry – I am still hopeful that the bank holiday spirit will come out in full force the moment the clock strikes 12.01am on 29 March.

Couples across the UK prepare to have the cockles of your heart thoroughly warmed as Valentine's Day is almost upon us.
For many, preparations for the celebration of all things love and romance will already be under way, with many pulling out all the stops in an effort to show their other halves just how special they are.
However, marking this annual day d'amour doesn't necessarily have to involve over-the-top displays of affection, hot air balloon rides at sunset anyone?
After all, Bishop Valentine, whose legend we invoke each February 14th demonstrated his love by simply passing a note to the object of his desire with the words "from your Valentine".

One of the first questions couples get asked is, "How did you guys meet?"
When I asked the inevitable the first time I met an old flatmate's girlfriend, the answer wasn't quite what I was expecting. It turned out she'd found him on Myspace, liked what she saw, messaged him something along the lines of 'You're fit' and voila – a two-year relationship in the bag.
Internet dating is now the third most popular way in the UK to meet a partner, along with meeting someone at work.
This is according to the Observer Online which also noted that the phenomenon has snowballed to the extent that it is now included in the Office for National Statistic's UK 'shopping basket' of goods and services that measure cost of living.

The dust that Christmas left behind in its wake has barely settled but it's already time to fire up your ideas machine for the next big annual celebration.
The prospect of a white January, coming across the odd forgotten bauble that escaped the miserable process of dismantling the decorations and indeed the dreaded credit card bill, are all a hark back to the festive season and for many it feels like the air is still alive with the spirit of Christmas.
However, with February 14 just around the corner, it is in fact love which is in the air, which means it's time to release your inner Cupid.

The magic of Christmas has finally hit Oxford Street as Robbie Williams flicked the famous switch this week in front of a 20,000-strong crowd. The former Take That star lit up the heart of London as he pressed the button with the help of former Spice Girls singer and Heart FM presenter Emma Bunton.
Robbie is currently celebrating his chart-topping tune Candy, in addition to fatherhood after his wife Ayda gave birth in September. Nevertheless, he took some time out to bring festive cheer to the capital and was joined by the likes of boy band Lawson and songstress Leona Lewis who also performed at the Christmassy occasion.
Speaking at the event, the Angels singer said: "Tonight's event was incredible – the Oxford Street crowds were amazing and it was fantastic being part of the celebrations."

This weekend was spent doing 'grown up' activities such as going to the theatre, staying in a fancy London hotel and sipping Earl Grey.
And then I ruined it all by going to Hamleys.
It all began with slipping unseen into the Savoy: sneaking past the door man in his top hat and sprawling out on the plush sofas of an elegant hotel I definitely wasn't staying in gave me that sheepish feeling 'I reeeally shouldn't be doing this... but I will anyway' that kids have when they're trying to take a sweet on the sly or steal a beloved toy from a sibling.

The pitch black mornings and bitter cold can make it hard to get out of bed at the moment, let alone leave the house to spend several hours wandering around town picking up various bits and bobs – and getting closer to contracting hypothermia with every passing minute.
It's not just the icy climes though; the thought of overspending puts a lot of Brits off winter shopping. With Christmas just ten weeks away and many people struggling to get enough savings together in time for the festive season, the mere thought of splashing the cash on a shopping trip is enough to make the average Brit slightly queasy. With this in mind, our brief guide suggests how you can make shopping cheaper... and fun!

It's been three weeks since the very first "Save Up London",
so my first duty in this post is to apologise for the time it's taken me to sit
down and take a look back at our event.
For those of you that don't know what Save Up is, it's the chance for
the Savoo DealPro™ community to get together and talk all things money saving
and blogging. As mentioned, this was the
first event, but we are sure that after this one we will make it an annual
thing and we look forward to as many of our network attending as possible.
