If you want to get away from the daily grind but don't have the cash or annual leave for a full-blown holiday, a city break is the next best thing. Short breaks to Europe have become increasingly popular, with Paris knocking New York off the top spot for the most visited destination in 2012.
Wouldn't it be lovely to jet off for a few days and leave your work and stress behind? Well, even if you're on a shoestring budget, you should still be able to bag yourself a bargain city break with some clever deal-hunting.
Whether you fancy exploring the local culture and history by visiting museums and galleries, doing a spot of shopping in quaint boutiques and gift shops or simply sitting back and relaxing on golden sands, you'll be able to find a city break to suit you on Hotels.com.

For some female travellers, packing for a holiday or mini-break either at home or abroad can turn into something of a military operation.
The task of fitting a full-sized hair dryer into a carry-on case is just one of the many challenges faced in attempting to ensure that our spell away from home isn't completely devoid of creature comforts.
And it seems that hotels across the globe have wisened up to the needs of female travellers, with an exceptional few prepared to do whatever it takes to cater to the every whim of their female guests, kitting rooms out with high-end toiletries, mirrors that offer the perfect reflection and more.

QHotels have a fantastic October half-term offer where families can save up to 40% on a two-night break (2 adults / 2 children). They have also introduced a new kid's menu – "Quackers!" which kids can enjoy for free during October half-term. In case you've not heard much of QHotels before – they are an independently owned hotel group with 21 individual hotels across the UK. 'The Quackers' children's menu aims to encourage children to take an interest in food and opens up their taste buds to some mouth-watering and delicious meals. Melon with raspberry sauce and strawberry, cheddar cheese and baby spinach leaf salad are just two of the delicious starters on offer, giant salmon fish finger and fajitas encourage children to be adventurous and mixed fruit kebab and banana split are two healthy dessert options...
It seems there isn't too much to be cheerful about at the moment. Energy bills are double what they were in 2004 and set to increase again, petrol is reaching record highs, topping the 137.43p set in May and, as if to add insult to injury, air fares are set to increase beyond the 'routine' school holiday hike. Whilst most of us agree that holidays have always been a luxury splurge, albeit a well-earned one, utilities are a basic need and, if the country's motorways during rush hour are anything to go by, thousands of us can't get by without our cars. But do we have to be held to ransom like this? Here at Savoo our sole aim is to save the Great British family as much money as possible so read on to find out what you can do.
Okay, so this isn't necessarily a guide by or for robots but the
video with its funky robot skier and weird musical medley, is cool.
We just want to make sure that the skiing robots out there don't
feel left out.
As we rapidly move towards winter, expectations amongst
dedicated human and robot skiers alike start to rise. When will the
snow come? Which mountains will be best? Will it snow at all?
Where's my oil?
These are questions best answered by the snow
report professionals so I will leave you to hunt down the best
conditions and make your own choice of destination. However, if you
would rather just jump right in and get the best price on any
resort, check out our ski and snow
deals section for some inspiration.
Once you've figured out where you would like to go, it's time to
get down to the nuts and bolts (ahem..) i.e. how much will this
cost me? This is where we at Savoo come in. Here are some great
places to begin on your search for the very best deals on all
things ski and snowboarding.
