Half term provides families with a whole week to spend some quality time together, have a well-earned rest and stock up on any bits and bobs your child might need for the second half of term.
The thought of doing the back-to-school shop all over again may well instill fear in the minds of many a parent – not only is it tedious but spending extra money in the run-up to Christmas is hardly ideal.
However, the
back-to-school (again) shop can be quick, easy and most importantly cheap, if you know where to find the best deals.

I hate shopping for school shoes with the boys. This is made much worse by the fact that Mini has very wide feet with a high instep. We have tried every shoe shop going and I have never been over the moon at any shoe shop until now.
Today we went to Clarks in a neighbouring market town, which doesn't actually have many shops at all, so much so that MadDad didn't even know that it had a Clarks.
So what made this shop pain free (apart from in the pocket)?
We booked our appointment online. No getting a ticket and waiting inline. Not for us, we jumped any queue with our pre-booked appointment - Whoop.
We had an experienced fitting lady (she was the manager) and all the other staff were more mature and handled the boys perfectly.
The plimsolls Mini needed were out of stock, but will be delivered FREE to my home address on Friday.
Plimsolls in a range of width fittings and in half sizes, which is perfect for us as both boys are half sizes...

Money Saving Tips
Mums and dads spend an average of £3,978.40 a year per child on school essentials with the cost of uniforms, stationery, transport, lunches and day trips all adding up.
Simon Bird, General Manager of Savoo says; "Millions of families up and down the country are preparing for the new academic year but are they prepared to spend almost £4,000? Our research reveals the staggering cost of sending youngsters back to school this year. Parents might be concerned about schooling costs but shopping smart with discounted vouchers could ease the blow to household budgets this term.
"Savoo.co.uk is helping families get off to a flying start this September, offering hundreds of discount vouchers and codes."

It might seem like the kids have only just broken up for the school holidays (then again, to many parents it might seem like it's been months already!) but already the shops are pushing their Back To School ranges and, for those of you willing to start early, there are some big savings to be made.
From school uniforms and new shoes to lunchboxes, backpacks and stationery, many High Street favourites have launched their B2S ranges and over the next fortnight, others like Sainsburys and WH Smith will be adding to the vast collection of things to get your kids off to a great start in the next school year.

As most UK parents are preparing for six weeks of their kids being out of school, there's one last school event on the To Do list - finding an end of year gift for the teacher. Now, I'm not sure when this became the 'norm'. I certainly don't remember all my classmates strolling into school on the last day of the year with brightly decorated gift bags and colourfully wrapped presents. But, it's a necessary expense that, unless you want your child feeling left out, we have to undertake. So, what's the best gift to give without spending a fortune?

It's raining, it's pouring, the students are snoring. That may not be precisely how the song goes but it is the general sentiment of the season with students looking to escape the dreary weather and embrace some summer sunshine.
The only hindrance, however, is the distinct lack of financial means to jet off to some exotic location. The solution? A frantic search for cheap holidays that will not do too much damage to the latest and final installment of the student loan.
