When the team at Savoo were invited by Affiliate Window to join the 2012 Super Games for the 2nd time running we saw this as great opportunity to show off our athletic builds and team spirit but more of the latter.
Have you been taking care of yourself with a 'new year, new you' resolution or two? Are you sweating out the sweets and drinks from the festive season with Zumba, boxing, yoga, pilates or any other form of exercise? Have you taken on a new fitness hobby or are you reinvesting in an old favourite? If you have undertaken the task of improving your health then it might be time to invest in some decent workout clothing and gear.
For the greater part of the past several months, we've worked long and hard for this. Scores of people have sacrificed everything, from their reputation to their sanity, all in the name of securing this victory. Never could we have imagined that this day would come, and yet, here we stand, with the fruits of our labour sitting before us. Enjoy this victory, for you've earned it. We have all earned it. Yes, the rumours you've heard are true – the word vuvuzela has been added to the Oxford Dictionary of English.
Half term provides families with a whole week to spend some quality time together, have a well-earned rest and stock up on any bits and bobs your child might need for the second half of term.
The thought of doing the back-to-school shop all over again may well instill fear in the minds of many a parent – not only is it tedious but spending extra money in the run-up to Christmas is hardly ideal.
However, the back-to-school (again) shop can be quick, easy and most importantly cheap, if you know where to find the best deals.
Finally, after years of planning and building and billions of pounds,
the 30th Olympics are underway in London. I'm not going to harp on about
how great the opening ceremony was (that's been done to death already)
or how frustrating our lack of medals (that's typically Team GB) but one
thing about any major sporting event, whether it's the Olympics,
Wimbledon, the World Cup or any others, people get inspired by it and that, in turn, can save us all a few quid.
For example, thanks in part to Bradley Wiggin's win last week in the
Tour de France, all of a sudden everyone's out riding their bikes,
enjoying some fresh air, fun exercise and saving a fortune on petrol and
bus or train fares. Right now, Halfords
has a great offer on all bikes and bike accessories whereby you can
instantly save up to £70 so, if you're looking for a new ride, now could
be the best time to get one.
As I sit at my desk and look out the window, normal service has resumed. The rain is lashing down and more severe weather warnings have been issued than Premiership footballers take out injunctions. But last night was different; the sun was shining and cricket fans in London flooded (sorry about that pun) into the Oval for the Friends Life T2O game between Surrey and Kent. Luckily for me I was there too, but not part of the masses – no, no – I was there as a guest of Webgains in a corporate box. A mighty fine way to spend an evening, if I do say so myself.
