2015 Spring Beauty Trends

From festival waves to dewy skin and perfect plums, the hair and beauty trends seen on the spring 2015 runways are delightfully wearable- even if you rarely follow fashion. Here we round up the best of them so you can update your beauty bag accordingly.

Festival Waves

Undone waves and air-dried hair was seen all over the catwalk, including Alberta Ferretti , Anna Sui and Sonia Rykiel. We love the 70s vibe (and the fact that it requires minimal preening in the morning!). We recommend Umberto Gianni Curl Friends, £6 from Boots.

High Shine

Ditch the heavily powdered matte skin for shine this spring- designers went as far as applying gel perspiration beads to models on the catwalk! Go dewy, not sweaty, with Benefit High Beam, £19.50 from Lookfantastic.

Centre partings

Changing your parting is a really easy way to update your look for 2015; runway hair was parted slightly off-centre.

Wet look hair

Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rosie Huntington Whitely have been sporting wet look hair for months now, closely followed by the girls at Zac Posen, Balmain and Thakoon on the catwalk. Use a wax like this one, £13.50 from Lookfantastic.

Bored of cat-eye flicks? Eyeliner is still going strong, but in 2015 it’s all about a bold underline or kohl extended from the middle to the outer corners.

Purple Haze

Go purple on your eyes this spring, whether it’s pretty lilac, icy lavender or dreamy dark plum- perfect for the chilly British weather.

Barefaced chic

Barefaced beauty is here to stay, with models even walking the catwalk make-up free at Marc Jacobs. Try a tinted moisturiser if you want to cover redness or blemishes, like Stila Illuminating Beauty Balm, £26.

Negative-Space Manicures

This trend is so easy to copy at home- simply let a little naked nail show through your manicure, whether it’s with half-moons or single stripes of colour.

Braids à la Elsa from Frozen are everywhere this spring- try and master the fishtail for ultimate boho hair.

Barely-there Nails

If you aren’t a fan of negative space manicures, keep your nail polish neutral with the palest pinks and chic nudes. We love Nails Inc. NailKale, £14 from Lookfantastic.

Bold Red Lips

Not brave enough to go barefaced this spring? Add a pop of colour to your lips with a striking shade of red.

Low Ponytails

However you choose to put your hair up for spring beauty, make sure it is low and at the nape of your neck- as see at Stella McCartney and Alexander Wang.
