Winter Fashion – a Pure Cashmere-ical

cashmere woolovers

Autumn has slowly slipped into winter and these cold and frosty mornings call for layers upon layers of luscious fabrics. And when ultimate comfort and class are simply all that will do, what else would we choose other than cashmere?

The soft, light fabric is around three times warmer than wool because the hair fibres used in cashmere are more densely packed, meaning its lighter but retains heat better.

So in my quest for winter-wonderful cashmere to keep me cosy and looking on trend throughout the season, I discovered this Pure Cashmere Poncho in Dove Grey from WoolOvers (comes in six colours).

At £89.00 it’s not cheap; but for 100% pure cashmere yarn it’s actually incredibly great value. Plus you can find loads of great deals when you check out WoolOvers Discount Codes at Savoo.

Why choose a poncho?

I just think ponchos are a classy alternative to jumpers. For me, a chunky cable knit jumper is perfectly paired with an open log fire and steaming mug of hot chocolate, but a poncho is just so elegant and can carry you through sunny Autumnal days as well as frostier winter ones – whether you’re a city girl teaming your poncho with sunnies or a country lass styling out your cashmere with a pair of Hunter wellies!

I place my order at woolovers.com and of course, claim my 20% off. That’s cashmere for a mere £71.20 my friends.

Don’t mind if I do!

A cashmere delivery

My cashmere-ical has arrived in the post and first impressions are that it feels super lightweight and is a gorgeous shade of grey.

Once I’ve torn it open, I find that it looks and feels just as great as I’d expected – it’s so soft!

I love how different the colour looks in different lights. It changes from a light pebble grey to a darker grey depending on the lighting.

(Yes, the picture below is of the exact same poncho – just in different lights!)

Here’s how it looks once I’ve got it on. I’m a size 10 and am wearing a Medium sized poncho.

I’m wearing simple black leggings and a black vest top underneath – perfect if you’re going to be inside and don’t want (or need) to bulk out your poncho look with too many layers. I really like this sleek look.

I also tried it on with a grey faux fur scarf for a more wintry look; playing with different greys and textures.

Weather testing my WoolOvers cashmere

It’s pretty fresh outside so before I head out, I decide to layer my cashmere poncho over a black turtleneck and team with white jeans.

I really love this layered look and can assure you I’m nice and toasty here whilst walking around the beautiful cobbled streets of Mareuil, France.

I can also confirm that a poncho is FAB at hiding a weekends’ worth of weight gain thanks to endless amounts of cheese and wine (gotta love France!).

The weather is crisp but not too cold, but if it were colder I’d be able to throw a coat over this outfit comfortably, no problem.

Conclusion

A cashmere poncho is a winter wardrobe essential for 2016, and I can strongly recommend WoolOvers for price, quality and style. I’m keeping mine handy for all occasions throughout the festive season.

I would love the Dove Grey. I would wear it for going our for lunch. It would be easy to slip over a chunky sweater and I could keep it with me in case the venue was cold. This happens a lot and a wrap is just right to keep the draughts off.

I love ponchos, I wear mine a lot in the autumn & winter. I’d choose the navy of I’m lucky enough to win. I would wear it to the family meal we are going to on Boxing Day at my local restaurant next to the beach.
