Where to watch the 2014 World Cup

World Cup fever is spreading like wildfire across the country (particularly now pubs and bars have been given the go-ahead to open until 1am when England are playing late!) If you aren’t sure where to watch the big game, read on for Savoo’s round-up of the best World Cup Deals in London and throughout the UK; if you can’t get to Brazil, bring the carnival spirit here instead.

Bounce, Holborn
Price: Free
Providing the ultimate combination of ping pong, football, pizza and beer, Bounce is one of the top spots to watch the World Cup in the capital this summer: featuring two 10ft cinematic screens with surround sound, special world cup cocktails, a half-time game show and an electric atmosphere. Not only is entry completely free (although you have to register), you can celebrate after the game until 2am with DJ Pete Pong and his classic party anthems.

The Vaults, Waterloo
Price: £8
Hosted in the tunnels below Waterloo station, the Vaults is promising to make every single World Cup game a giant party. With a giant screen, headline country inspired entertainment and ample food and drink, you won’t find a better Brazilian carnival atmosphere in London (as well as no queues at the bar). Book your tickets in advance to get the best price and a free drink!

Far Rockaway, Shoreditch

Price: £40 for package
Far Rockaway in Shoreditch will be playing all the World Cup games on nine HD projectors, as well as offering package deals for groups of up to 10 people; for £40 each you will have a guaranteed seat for a game, cava on arrival, four beers per person (or half a bottle of wine), pizzas, a burger each, wings and zucchini fries. It’s making us hungry just thinking about it!

Sushisamba, Liverpool Street
Price: Free
Take the express lift up the side of the Heron Tower to Sushisamba on the 38th floor, and experience the World Cup with unbeatable views over London. Here you can enjoy screenings of most of the games along with shimmering samba dancers and refreshing Caipirinhas. Getting a dinner reservation at Sushisamba is notoriously difficult, but there’s nothing to stop you enjoying a cocktail on the roof terrace!

Grand Union Bars

All eight Grand Union bars across London (including Camden, Brixton and Paddington) are offering World Cup screenings for the big games- the Wandsworth branch is even holding a Super Saturday on June 11th with early doors from 8am! Try themed burgers from 11 of the competing nations as well as drink specials in the arena style seating, or book a private Tree Hut with its own TV.

Across the UK
The Rainbow Venue, Birmingham

Price: £10
A special mention goes out to the Rainbow Venue in Birmingham, which will be screening the England vs Italy game on Saturday with an authentic Brazilian carnival vibe. Doors open at 2pm but the party will go on well into the early hours, with Brazilian dancers, DJs, street food stalls and Rio inspired decorations. Get an early bird ticket for just £10.

Black Dog Ballroom, Manchester
Price: Free
Join the Black Dog Ballroom on the roof terrace at 6pm on Thursday 12th and enjoy a traditional Brazilian BBQ, cheap Caipirinhas and a World Cup sticker swapsie shop. Don’t forget to stick around to watch the Brazil vs Croatia match at 9pm on one of the new big screens in the bar area.

Price: Free
Wetherspoons is always a popular choice for watching football, and during the World Cup you can expect cheap food and lots of it (along with an undoubtedly rowdy atmosphere!). With 800 locations throughout the UK, we recommend sampling the Wetherspoon’s Brazilian pitcher- made with mango, passion fruit, fresh orange, Brazilian Guaraná and Bacardi rum.

Revolution Bars
Price: Free
Awarding itself the grand title of ‘the Home of Football’, Revolution is really pulling out all the stops for the World Cup this year. Selected bars (including Bristol, Cardiff and Newcastle) will have big screens for every England game, along with over 30 premium beers and a brand new menu featuring burgers, pizza and burritos. Go for one of the food and drink sharer platters to really get into the spirit.

La Tasca

Price: Free
The authentic Spanish tapas restaurant La Tasca will be televising all live England and Spanish World Cup games at 21 venues, with 2 for 1 on house drinks on offer throughout the event. You can just turn up to watch the match, but we recommend pre-booking seats- La Tasca will automatically enter you into a prize draw to win premium seats, a bucket of beers and a Tabla of Spanish nibbles!
