Number 1 festival money saving tip… don’t waste money on expensive programmes. Set times, locations and site maps are generally available online beforehand but should also be dotted around the site so either print off in advance or take pictures on your phone on the day… but if you still want a programme or other merchandise as a memento wait until towards the end of the event and you’ll be able to negotiate yourself a bargain!

Bonus tip… if you really want to go to a festival but can’t afford a ticket make sure you enter competitions, most large festivals allocate a good number of tickets for giveaway on various forums/websites so spend a bit of time searching the web for winning opportunities and you might get lucky 😉

Food at festivals is easily one of the most expensive things that rinses your budget, so why not take a trip to tescos before and stock up on food before rather than spending £10 just on a burger!

My festival tip is if it is a hot day, grab a cup of ice for free from the bar. Not only can you cool your face down, but once it melts you have a cup of ice cold water without having to pay £2 for a bottle of one!

My number one saving tip is to take snacks and meals that can be prepared easily on campsite, as food stalls are very expensive and it’s easy to get carried away when you’re hungry! Oranges and bananas are really good as they keep your energy up and stay clean in their skins. I always take a camping stove and can make decent meals like pasta with sauce on it, it’s a game changer.

Bring your own essentials and save a lot of money not having to buy at the festival.. Your own poncho for those rainy moments, unopened bottle of water which you refill at water points. Save money on booze by sticking to ciders and beers instead of spirits. Hunt around the food stalls as some will have some great deals and offer you more for your money like meal deals, don’t just go for the first one that tempts you in. Make friends with your fellow festival goers, they will share all of their tips and advice with you plus you will leave with more friends and love in your life. Happy festivalling everyone

    Money saving for festivals:

    – Borrow a tent
    – Raid the web for vouchers for luxuries
and my favourite – Use an old ladies shopping trolly rather than buying a holdall (easier to drag along and less expensive)

I would really love to win a pair of Tickets to SW4, I have tried every competition going as I have just got married and couldn’t afford to buy them but really want to see Klingande and MK. It would make my year, after my wedding of course! 😀

My best money saving tip at a festival is to only take a limited amount of cash so you don’t end up spending a fortune and to make sure you eat and drink enough before you get there that you won’t need to buy anything for at least a few hours!

Great tip from me is to check for the festival app. Always has up-to-date info on the show, stands and other useful info… plus its free!

Another tip is don’t bring too much with so and rely on the expensive lockers they have on site. A small backpack with the essentials only. Seriously, is that copy of War & Peace an essential? Exactly!

Most festivals I have been to I have always noticed people spending unnecessary money on water proofs and on the other flip side sunglasses. Make sure your stocked up on ponchos for the rain, wellies and sunglasses. Also check in advance that you are able to take food/drink into the venue – if you can take an ice bag full of goodies so your not spending £5 for a bottle of water! But the main thing is enjoy.

Number one tip for saving money is to hide your alcohol in a fake umbrella which can hold up to 267ml (fake umbrellas are easily purchased online) or use a catheter and fills up with a spirit to sneak booze into your wellies. Easy way to get them into the main arena and then most importantly leave the bank card at home!

if it’s a one day festival, freeze a couple of bottles of water. this means you’ll have access to ice cold water for the whole day, as you just top up when you get to a tap and the ice core will last all day. i do this in the summer whenever i go up to london.

How to save money at festivals!!! – Enter all competitions to win drink tokens, luxuries & tickets etc and hope for the best! Also apply face paints & glitter before hand… Keep an eye out for set times online instead of buying a lanyard.
Don’t put ice in your drink, makes it stronger therefore may not need to buy another.
Also use the transport provided by the festival to save on paying for cabs.
Would love to win this! X
