The Circulation Foundation is the UK’s only dedicated vascular disease charity, dedicated to funding and promoting research into the causes, treatment and prevention of vascular disease.

Did you know...

Vascular disease accounts for 40% of all deaths in the UK, and is as common as cancer and heart disease, yet many people are unaware of its devastating effects and causes. Therefore the mission of the Circulation Foundation is simple: first, to raise the profile of this fatal illness and help promote vascular health to the general public, and secondly by funding premium research projects targeted on prevention, treatment and care of sufferers with this disabling and often fatal disease.

The charity's world class research to date, has had a huge impact on improving the quality of life for vascular disease sufferers throughout the UK.

Everyone is at risk of vascular disease, and nearly 1 out of 2 people will suffer from it at some point in his or her lifetime. It can be virtually symptomless until the arteries and veins become so damaged, that the blood flow to vital organs is compromised. Vascular disease is the most common precursor to heart attacks and strokes.

The Circulation Foundation’s mission is to keep the Nations blood flowing by investing in critically needed research projects and expansive public awareness programmes.

What makes Circulation Foundation different

As the only Vascular charity in the UK, this is a small, streamline charity with few overheads, which enables them to maximise the effectiveness of their donations. All money raised and donated has a significant impact on preventing and treating vascular disease within the UK.

Vascular disease is widely prevalent in society but remains vastly underfunded in the field of medical research. The Circulation Foundation is working to change this by embarking on a focused programme of research grants. But they need funding to support these innovative research projects and to ultimately, save lives.
