Epilepsy Action improves the lives of people with epilepsy
600,000 people are living with epilepsy in the UK.
87 people are diagnosed with epilepsy every day (17 of these are young people under the age of 18).
Three people die every day because of their epilepsy. SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy) claims around 500 people’s lives each year in the UK. Others die because they have had accident caused by a seizure.
Nine out of 10 people in Britain would get basic first aid for seizures wrong.
Virtually all of the life-changing support we provide is funded by donations and fundraising.
