Headway Bristol is a local charity with 40 years of experience in providing long-term support to brain injured adults, their families, and carers. Their aims are to assist in independent living, promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury, and to help those with brain injuries fulfil their potential.

Through their social and cognitive rehabilitation for brain injured adults, they provide much needed assistance and support. They also provide respite for the families and carers of those with a brain injury, and aim to raise awareness of the impact brain injury may have on them too.

Did you know...

They offer a Carer’s Support Service, which provides support for carers and families at the point of crisis and beyond. They’ve established the HIYA group (head injured young adults), a social group that meets monthly to provide peer support to young adults suffering from head injuries

2017 marks their 40th anniversary.

Since formally establishing their carers support service three years ago, they have had a 556% increase in the direct support they can offer to individuals.

What makes Headway Bristol different

Not only do they offer support at their day centre, but also through events and activities in the wider community for those that benefit from their services. They also offer a carer's support service, which aims to provide support for carers and families at the point of crisis and beyond. They've also established the HIYA group (head injured young adults), a social group that meets monthly to provide support to young adults suffering from head injuries.

Other ways to support

Apart from supporting Headway Bristol through Savoo, there are lots of other ways you can support them too. For example, you could volunteer at their day centre, put on an ‘in aid’ of fundraising event of your choice, or even spread the word about their work and how they can help those with brain injuries via social media.

A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time, with life changing and often devastating consequences. Help us be there to support those affected
