Kingston Centre for Independent Living

The charity provides a range of services, advice and information to ensure that disabled people who live, work or study in the Kingston area are able to lead independent lives.

Did you know...

They provide advice and support in the following areas:

  • Self-directed Support (including Direct Payments and Personal Budgets) for disabled people who wish to be in control of their own care

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is designed to help families broker and develop a support plan to better meet the needs of their child

  • Independent Support for children, young people (up to 25) and their families through the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) - assessment under the changes brought about by the Children’s Act 2014

  • Holiday Grants to assist those who qualify with the costs of taking a holiday

Other ways to support

You could volunteer with KCIL. The charity appreciates that supporters add value to the role they play in the community by bringing a variety of skills, abilities and knowledge to the table.

Current volunteer vacancies include Ambassadors, Community Fundraisers and Photographers/Film-makers.
