Richard House Children's Hospice

Richard House’s vision is for children and their families to lead the best possible life when facing a life-limiting condition. We aim to provide children facing life-limiting conditions with the best care possible and work with parents to choose when, where and how they receive this care. We do this through a range of services including: residential clinical care, music therapy and end of life care with pre and post bereavement support for all the family.

Did you know...

We were London first children’s hospice and we continue to lead the way for children’s care to this day. The Hospice was founded by our Life-President Anthea Hare, who was inspired by both her experience as a paediatric nurse at Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, and through helping her parents to look after her severely autistic brother Richard, who died as a young man.

What makes Richard House Children's Hospice different

Life’s short, for all of us. We all want to do what we love and make the most of every minute. For children with life-limiting conditions and their families, “Life’s Short" has a poignant meaning: they simply do not have time to waste.

Other ways to support

Richard House Children's Hospice wouldn’t be able to continue our vital work without volunteers who truly are the heartbeat of the hospice. Our volunteering opportunities are varied so there’s something for everyone.
