Our aims are very straightforward: to support excellence in the treatment, research and care that we provide to our young patients, now and always. We aim to make a real difference to the children and young people in our care by ensuring they continue to receive the highest quality treatment in the highest quality facilities.

We do this by focusing our fundraising efforts on three key areas, namely treatment, research and care. These can include the purchase of specialist equipment to diagnose and provide treatment of our young patients more quickly and easily, creating as child-friendly an environment as possible and funding pioneering medical research to increase our understanding of children’s illnesses and the optimum way to treat them.

Did you know...

The hospital sees 220,000 patient visits each year across a range of specialities including oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant, burns, genetics, and orthopaedics. With 371 beds it is the largest single-site children's hospital in the UK.

The hospital provides:

  • An integrated paediatric service to Greater Manchester and beyond.
  • Latest medical equipment and information technology.
  • Play centre, schooling, limited family accommodation and adolescent facilities to cater for the needs of the whole family.
  • The 60 bedroom Ronald McDonald House Manchester offers free 'home away from home' accommodation for families.

What makes RMCH different

Unlike other charities, we do not have a set figure to raise every year to ‘keep our doors open’. Instead, we provide projects which can be supported by donors. These projects vary from smaller opportunities, to large-scale enhancements of the hospitals. The key thing is, a fundraiser’s donation is transparent and used specifically for the intention it was given.
