The Bridge (East Midland) are a housing and homelessness charitable organisation.

Working for the community since 1993, we support on average 2,500 homeless and vulnerably housed individuals across Leicestershire & Rutland a year. We have seen the demand for our services grow alongside national homeless and rough sleeper figures reaching unprecedented levels.

Homelessness is a largely misunderstood issue in society affecting in excess of 280,000 across the UK. We deliver several high quality advice and support services to combat homelessness at the root causes, preventing those at risk of becoming and rehousing those that already are, homeless.

Did you know...

  • Reported figures are often a shadow of the reality as there is no standardised method to capture actual homeless for those who are not statutorily homeless.

  • There are actually four different categories of homelessness: the statutorily homeless, those in temporary accommodation, rough sleepers and the Hidden Homeless.

 What makes The Bridge different

We are a preventative charity, working towards eradicating many of the leading causes in homelessness, offering advice and support as early as possible, so no one is ever faced with the reality of not having a place to call home. Our vision is to create: “Resilient, compassionate communities where individuals thrive in safe and secure homes".
