Bread, milk, cheese, chicken, washing up liquid, frozen peas, baked beans, sausages, biscuits, pasta, cereal, loo roll and squash. Sound familiar? It should do because most of these items are on everyone's weekly shopping list. Whether you're shopping for just yourself or for a family, these are the staples that we buy all the time. Yes, I know vegetarians will fore-go the chicken and sausages, while not everyone likes dairy or biscuits but you can pretty much guarantee that, if you don't buy a particular item here, you'll substitute it with something else.

I have many pet peeves. I think life would be less frustrating if I could move past them but they've already been ingrained so far back in my mind that they're here to stay. Most are minor irritations like people make tapping noises (a frequent occurrence in the classes I am a supply teacher for) or the misuse of the words their, there and they're. And I'm not a fan of smokers tossing their cigarette butts on the floor (smoke by all means just don't kill me and litter the streets while you're at it.) However, I've also noticed that there are many things that people do around me that bother me while I shop.

BOGOF, 2 for 1, 3 for 1, price cuts, brand match, price guarantee… The jargon is never ending. When I'm shopping in my local supermarket I never know if the 'deal' is really saving me money. And the effort that I would have to go to if I wanted to check the price at another supermarket really isn't worth it. Consequently, I feel like I'm the only one who isn't bothered by the so-called 'supermarket price war.'

Money Saving Tips
Tea is, without doubt, an institution here in the UK. It has more uses, many of which are contradictory, than anything else I can think of. A steaming mug of tea will get you going first thing in the morning while a hot cuppa will relax you at the end of the day. Coming in from the cold? A nice brew will warm you up and yet the best thing when it's a bit hot outside is a warm RosyLee to refresh you. Friends will gather to laugh and catch up over a shared pot of tea yet we're just as comfortable curled up on our own with a good book and a steaming mug of char. Stressed or upset? Have a cup of tea. Shock? A sweet brew will snap you out of it. Is it really any wonder that we love the stuff so much?

I was recently chatting with a couple of friends - women, like me, balancing a full-time career with raising kids and maintaining a household - when we got onto the topic of how costly groceries are these days. Now, because everyone needs to eat, most of us don't really think about how much we spend on food, other than perhaps buying the cheapest version of what we want but, between the three of us, there were massive differences in our grocery bills. Obviously family size makes a difference but, even breaking it down per capita, those differences were measurable in pounds not pennies and we wanted to know why. After all, if one of us is saving money the rest of us want to know how.
Eat Great Meat
By alantheirishmanDealPro 8 months ago I always thought of Asda for strictly groceries, but their George line of clothing is great. Priced low there are some great styles for men and women, and the children's section is terrific for schoolwear.
