I've been putting off writing this particular article since last Spring but alas the time has come. Much as I try, I can no longer deny that the fashion of my wasted youth has made its return. The dam broke this morning when I saw the term "90's Grunge" in bold text over at the Telegraph fashion section. Well that does it, the fun, bright 80s nostalgia is on it's way out, forced out by boredom and flannel. My God, it really is the 90s all over again only without the music. Last year, NHS Direct received 850,000 calls over the festive period, a 16% increase on the year before. So, to ensure you stay healthy and your Christmas isn't ruined by illness, we've put together a Savoo survival guide.
Stock up - The most common ailments over the festive period
include coughs and colds, indigestion and hangovers. Fortunately, these
are all things that can be dealt with quite effectively with products
available at your local chemist. Unfortunately, if you don't have
any of these products - especially when everything is shut on Christmas
Day - then you'll have to suffer your way through the biggest day of
the season. Plan ahead and stock up on antacids, cough medicine, Vitamin
C and paracetamol, along with plasters and ointments for any unexpected
bumps and falls (we all have an elderly aunt who might over-indulge on
the sherry!) Try Boots or Asda if you'd rather not venture out in this weather and want to find all those OTC remedies in one place.
