London Fashion Week (LFW) is in full swing and while I'm still waiting patiently for my front row tickets to arrive in the post, I've found that the best way to keep myself amused while the cream of the world's fashion elite display their wares, is to earmark the collections that I hope will be gracing the high street sooner rather than later.
Although Bajan beauty and all round international superstar Rihanna spent just ten seconds gracing the LFW stage with her presence for the debut of her Rihanna For River Island range, I intend to dedicate at least a weekend of souped-up shopping to giving the threads designed by the pop diva a thorough once over.

Spring is the season of all things new and that includes a thoroughly updated wardrobe. Out go any remnants of autumnal browns or wintery greys and in comes a dizzying array of colourful garments that wouldn't look out of place in a Monet painting.
You see, the joy of the upcoming season's fashions is that it literally puts a spring in your wannabe catwalk step and drags us out of the doldrums of our not-so-high-fashion winter wear. Onesies anyone?
So wave a fond farewell to your cosy knits, slouchy knee highs and snoods and wave hello to suits, sandals and more.
Here are just a few reasons why the words spring and fashion sit so happily in the same sentence.

Whether you are walking down your local high street, having a lazy Sunday brunch with the girls or just people-watching from your favourite local haunt, the opportunities to add to your bank of fashion ideas are numerous. From the friend who 'glams' up a Primark dress with a statement belt to the bold fashionista who creates a mock pair of Louboutins by painting the base of her sky-high heels in China red, the possibilities are endless.
While many are happy to divulge their style secrets to keep the fashion
police at bay, others keep their fashion cards close to their chest so
that they can hold on to the best dressed crown for a few months longer.
A
new survey has revealed that a third of British women keep quiet about
the best place to seek out stylish fashion bargains online.

With only a few months to go until summer rolls around, it may be too late to put your 'drop a dress size' plan into action. Luckily you can summon the fashion gods to come to your aid and utilise a few savvy short cuts that will hide a multitude of sins. A top to toe outfit in black is normally the first stop for 'dropping' a few pounds but, as summer and colour are the best of friends, here are a few other ways you can cheat your way to your ideal figure.

Stella McCartney unveiled the much anticipated Olympic uniforms for Team GB yesterday and now the country is seeing red, just not on the uniforms themselves. In partnership with Adidas our very own London born designer Stella McCartney took all the red out of the Union Flag choosing instead to use the colour as trim. The designer is quoted as saying that this was a choice to 'modernise' the look of the flag but the patriotic masses are crying foul, loudly!

Ladies' tops are being seen AND heard this spring and summer. There is no denying that prints are laying waste to last year's solid colour blocks. Inspiration for these busy patterns comes from all over; the American west, Rock & Roll, French stripes, the 90s in general; there should be something to please every pallet. Meanwhile, peplum tops have returned updated with mesh fabric, bright colours and more prints. This summer expect the line between festive wear and street wear to grow even thinner, as tanks displaying UK & US pride make their way through crowded Olympic hosting streets. Animal designs remind us that fur will always be ugly and dead so honour your wild side with a big cat print instead.
