Black Friday Shopping Tips 2016

black friday

Did you know that you’re more likely to die in a Black Friday sale than a shark attack?*

Tip? Don’t go into the water. It’s a jungle out there!

Experts are urging shoppers to stay at home this Black Friday and shop online instead.

Daily Deals expert, Alice Beer, said “online is the way to go this year; for sanity and security”; and ITV This Morning TV presenter Phillip Schofield added; “you should definitely shop online nowadays to avoid being trampled”.

The advice is pretty clear and consistent.

Here are a few ‘words of shopping wisdom’ from the survivors of Black Friday 2015

Black Friday survivor

Yes, we survived last year.

We survived in-store punch ups; we managed to find the very best deals amongst thousands of lesser-quality voucher codes; and we managed to get everything we’d set out to buy.

Now we want to help you.

Black Friday shopping tips

Here are our top tips for getting the most out of Black Friday 2016:

  1. We’ve said it once, but we’ll say it again. Stay inside. Why would you bother going outside to battle the crowds, fight over purchases and then have to lug everything home? Our advice to you? Shop at home in your pyjamas. Did you know that almost four times as many shoppers are planning to shop online instead of in-store this Black Friday.
  2. Be prepared. Write a wish list detailing everything you’re hoping to buy so you don’t forget anything. This way you can keep an eye out for the deals that apply to you and it will help you stick to your budget and avoid impulse purchases.
  3. Carefully compare prices – just because you see the words ‘money off’, doesn’t mean you won’t find the same product for less elsewhere.
  4. Check Black Friday deals websites frequently to keep on top of the latest codes and discounts. You could also sign up for alerts on retailer sites. There’s a lot of information out there and you’ll need to act fast when you find the best deals.

These simple but important tips will help you not only survive, but thrive this Black Friday.
