One of my dearest friends is about to dust off the shackles of the 9 to 5 in favour of the more laid-back pace of life and glorious sunshine on offer in Tanzania and who can blame her?
With only a couple of weeks until her departure, our almost daily phone calls will be replaced by carefully co-ordinated Skype chats, fitted in around work commitments, time differences and so on.
While for most people this would be the perfect way to catch up with their friends 'in person', for my part there's a small hitch... my ancient
Dell laptop is sans both microphone and camera.

Good news ladies: thanks to the rapid evolution of mobile phones, the number of British men leaving Christmas shopping to the last minute is poised to drop dramatically this year.
Though they are typically known to leave shopping until Christmas Eve, this year men are using their mobile phones to help them get organised.
And it looks like the move will pay off, with research commissioned by online payment service Paypal predicting that the number of men waiting until the last minute could halve.
With more than one in ten British men saying they have already bought or plan to buy gifts using their mobile device this Christmas and almost half (46%) browsing for goods on their phones, Paypal has forecast that the last minute dashes to the shops among men will drop from 14% on Christmas Eve in 2011 to just 7% in 2012.

Christmas and New Year
I have been warned that teenager + mobile phone = big bills. This weekend, I was chatting to three mums who were complaining about monthly three figure bills for their daughters' phones. Money Saving Tips
I have a confession to make, we have been so busy playing these games
over the summer that I totally forgot I needed to tell my readers all
about them. We have spent the summer travelling up and down to London
on the trains, up and down the country in the car and days out in the
area, that has been a lot of time where the children have had the
opportunity to get fed up in the car so the iPad has been taking a
battering and I was overjoyed when I was asked if we would like to
review some of the new children's apps available on the market. . . . → Read More: The Latest Apps for Children

Money Saving Tips
Remember the days when you would just throw your empty baked bean tin straight in the bin once done with it? Do you remember being in the office before you had to pull staples out of letters before you throwing them into a bin? Gone are these days so, hooray, right? Well, yes but, as a nation we still dispose of nearly 300 million tonnes of waste. It's completely unsustainable so we need to do more to help both the environment and, consequently, our wallets.

Stuff We Like
When you want to get your hands on a shiny new and gleaming smartphone it is always very tempting to run into town and jump into the very first shop you come to because that gives you that all important quick release. We are not very good, as humans, at waiting for stuff especially when it comes to nice new tech like a smartphone.
