Support Rainforest Trust UK with Savoo

Rainforest Trust is fighting to protect 20 million acres of the Brazilian Amazon, the world's largest and most important tropical rainforest. Home to species found nowhere else on Earth, massive deforestation is endangering wildlife and Indigenous people and raising the stakes for all life on Earth. Protecting 20 million acres (an area the size of Scotland) will safely lock up six billion metric tonnes of CO₂ equivalents, which, to put it in perspective, is more than the U.S.'s annual total CO₂ emissions.

Deforestation and habitat loss is the number one cause of extinction and is also responsible for up to 15% of greenhouse gas emissions. That is why our mission is to prevent deforestation and protect rainforests and other threatened tropical ecosystems. We love working with Savoo to give people the opportunity to save rainforests while you shop!" - Vicky Wallace, Fundraising Manager, Rainforest Trust UK

Please redeem a qualifying deal on Savoo before June 9th to help us raise awareness and funds for Rainforest Trust UK’s Brazilian Amazon Fund.

What is World Environment Day?

World Environment Day is held annually on June 5th and raises awareness of how to protect and restore the Earth. Since its inception in 1973, the United Nations Environment Programme has spearheaded World Environment Day. People from more than 150 countries get involved in the event, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2024. This year, priorities include land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.

World Environment Day can serve as an actual device for change. Last year's focus on plastic pollution resulted in an agreement on a historic resolution for a legally binding global committee. Closer to home, everybody can get involved. From switching to LED lightbulbs, increasing recycling and conserving more energy, we can all do our part to affect change. You can also get involved by fundraising and volunteering.

Another event for your calendar is World Rainforest Day on June 22nd. Created in 2017 by the Rainforest Partnership, this organisation shares Rainforest Trust's desire to preserve the world's rainforests for climate, biodiversity, and cultural purposes. The day brings together people and organisations with shared environmental ambitions by raising awareness of the importance of rainforests and the inherent consequences of deforestation.

About Rainforest Trust UK

Rainforest Trust UK is a charity that helps protect the world's tropical forests and endangered wildlife. The threats facing our tropical ecosystems are complex, so the organisation works with communities and like-minded organisations in the areas directly affected by depleting forests. Since its founding in 1988, Rainforest Trust has protected over 50 million acres of natural habitat across 72 countries and demonstrated that safeguarding critical habitat is the most effective way to protect animal and plant species.

Significant progress has been made in the fight against global deforestation, but there is still much to do. Sadly, an acre of forest is lost to deforestation every three seconds, which cannot continue. 100% of the money raised for Rainforest Trust UK goes to their conservation efforts, and there are lots of ways that you can donate and get involved with fundraising.

In addition to shopping at selected brands during our campaign, you can continue to support the charity by creating a Savoo account and choosing Rainforest Trust UK as your charity. Then, when you claim a Savoo discount on your online shopping, they will earn more donations throughout the year.
