With four years of experience in sales and partnerships, including a previous role at the employee benefits platform Perkbox, Maddy spends her days negotiating deals and securing exclusive offers with some of the biggest fashion and beauty brands such as &other stories, steve madden, skechers and Murci. It means she has a genuine understanding of how brands structure their promotions, when they tend to run sales, and what shoppers should look out for.
In her spare time, Maddy is a self-confessed savvy shopper who has never been one to pay full price, if she can help it. Whether she's tracking down a viral beauty product she spotted on TikTok or hunting for a better price on a holiday outfit, she's become pretty good at finding ways to cut costs. She's an avid Vinted user and is a firm believer that a few extra minutes of searching for discount codes and first-order offers before you buy can save you more than you'd think.
Tips from Maddy on saving money on fashion and beauty
Always check for a code first
"Before buying anything, I'll usually check for discount codes, sign up for newsletters to unlock first order offers where I can, and keep an eye on seasonal sales. It's amazing how often you can save 10-20% just by spending a few extra minutes looking around."
Know when brands are likely to run promotions
"I've worked closely with a number of major fashion and beauty brands to promote exclusive offers and discounts, which has given me a good understanding of when brands are most likely to run promotions and the types of deals shoppers should look out for."
Shop second-hand
"One of my favourite money-saving tips is shopping second-hand. I'm an avid Vinted user and have both bought and sold on it for years. Not only can you find current pieces for a fraction of the retail price, I've also managed to track down discontinued items I'd regretted getting rid of years ago. If you're looking for a particular fashion item that's no longer available in stores, there's a good chance someone is selling it on a resale platform. I've picked up some of my best bargains that way."
