How to save money at DFDS

DFDS ferry sailing in the sea Your next holiday starts right here with the world’s leading ferry operator, DFDS Seaways. With frequent ferry crossings between the UK and Europe and a wide range of fantastic on-board facilities there’s no better way to explore new places.

For over 150 years, DFDS have been leading the seas, and originally started off as a steam ship operator in Denmark. Today they carry almost a million passengers to their destination each year.

Catch your ferry from a number of ports around the UK, including Dover, Newcastle and Newhaven. Ferry trip destinations include Calais, Dunkirk, and Amsterdam. There’s also a range of mini cruises available for those who want to travel a little further afield. Both ferry trips and mini cruises are a fantastic option for families, couples or groups to discover Europe like never before.

How to find cheap ferry tickets at DFDS

Let’s face it – who doesn’t want to save money when booking a trip? Fortunately you’re in the right place to start saving on your adventure. Here at Savoo you can find lots of DFDS voucher codes, money saving tips and special offers.

On top of taking advantage of the fantastic discount codes, there are plenty of other ways you can stretch your budget when booking your next ferry trip or mini cruise.

Avoid travelling in peak times

Certain times throughout the year are a lot more popular, such as during school holidays and long bank holiday weekends. If you can, try and travel outside of these busier periods to enjoy cheaper ferry tickets. Plus, travelling on a weekday generally costs less than travelling on weekends.

Book your tickets in advance

The lowest ticket prices can be found when you book well in advance. Make sure you book as early as you can before your departure date. The earlier the better if you want to try and get the cheapest ticket prices available.

Take an overnight ferry

Night ferries are available on certain routes, and there are lots more cheaper spaces available on these ferries. The overnight departures set off at 23.59 and arrive at 06.00 the following morning. The comfortable rooms and fantastic on-board facilities mean you’ll feel right at home.

Can I change my booking details?

Yes, you can amend your booking online at any time. Simply log in to view your booking details. You can amend your passenger details, your date and time of travel, and your vehicle type. Once logged in you can also cancel your booking completely or reset your account password.

Any extra charges will need to be paid in full before the amendments are confirmed. Remember to print out your new booking details to take with you when you depart!

What on-board facilities are there on DFDS ferries?

The on-board facilities available differ depending on which route you are taking. However you can expect to see a fantastic range of restaurants and eateries with family-friendly options available. You can sit back, grab a drink and enjoy the views from one of the on-board bars too.

There are plenty of areas to sit and relax, as well as shops for the travel essentials you might have forgotten to bring. To keep the kids entertained you should check out the play areas and games rooms – there’s something for all ages, and means you can get a little bit of peace and quiet for a while.

Why isn’t my DFDS voucher code working?

If you’re booking online and have reached the checkout area to realise that your offer code hasn’t worked there are three steps to try and resolve the issue. Please get in touch with the DFDS customer services if you have tried the steps and cannot get your voucher to work.

First check that you have entered the code into the right box. Next, make sure that your trip details match the criteria of the offer you want to use. There may be certain dates or routes that the offer is valid on.

Finally, the voucher must still be active for you to use it. Take a look on the Savoo page – if you can no longer see it then it has expired. See if there is a different discount code you can use instead if yours is no longer active.
