We're here until people with mental health problems have a fair chance in life

We challenge inequality and disadvantage throughout the life course.

  • We drive through change and improvement to policy and practice

  • We amplify the real experiences of those most affected by inequality and mental health discrimination

  • We shine a light on world class services and innovation through research, consultancy and evaluation

Did you know...

… that people with severe mental health conditions die on average 20 years earlier than those without? Or that only a quarter of people with a mental health condition receive any treatment? Or that every year, one in ten children experience a mental health problem?

We’re highlighting the gaps in policy and practice which make life with a mental health problem harder, poorer and shorter. And we’re working on the ground to ensure that people receive the best, most effective service, when they need it.

What makes the Centre for Mental Health different

We highlight where things need to change, and then work with frontline services to put it into practice. Through your support, we’ll achieve a fairer future for mental health.
