Rainforest Concern exists to protect threatened natural habitats and biodiversity, as well as the indigenous people who still depend on them for survival. Established in 1993, the charity is currently runs 16 rainforest conservation projects in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Romania, Costa Rica and India.
Rainforest Concern acquires land in the name of local communities/ local Non Government Organisation’s in order to keep the community involved, as well as educated on how land can be used effectively without being destroyed. Another key conservation method is the creation of alternative income projects to help local people make a living working with the environment.
