Rainforest Concern

Rainforest Concern exists to protect threatened natural habitats and biodiversity alongside the indigenous people who still depend on them for survival.

Established in 1993, the charity is currently running 16 rainforest conservation projects in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Romania, Costa Rica and India.

Did you know...

Rainforest Concern has been instrumental in protecting over 2.2 million hectares of native forest.

The charity also created the Neblina Cloud Forest Reserve in Ecuador, an important link in the Choco-Andean Forest Corridor, and essential habitat for the ocelot and threatened spectacled bear.

What makes Rainforest Concern different

Rainforest Concern often purchases land in the name of local communities/ local Non Government Organisation’s in order to keep the community involved and to educate them on how land can be used effectively without being destroyed.

Other ways to support

Supporters can run the London Marathon or the Bath Half with a space with Rainforest Concern and raise funds to support the charity. They can also raise awareness by holding or participating in events.
