Down’s Heart Group was founded in 1988 in response to a lack of information surrounding congenital heart defects specifically associated with Down’s Syndrome.

The Group now exists to provide parent friendly support, information and advice on heart conditions connected to Down's Syndrome; to be there at every stage of the parent or child's life whenever they're needed and to empower parents and help them make the best choices for their loved one.

Did you know...

Around 47% of babies born with Down's Syndrome will have heart defects? Down's Heart Group is the only UK charity dealing solely with these specific needs, so their support is tailored to its members exact needs.

What makes the Down's Heart Group different

The charity runs on a very small budget and strives to keep costs to a minimum so fundraising support and donations are greatly needed to ensure that the Down's Heart Group can continue to support more families.

"We are the little charity with the big heart - nearly all of our staff and trustees have some personal experience of a family member with Down's Syndrome and heart problems, so we can offer individual and understanding help to families and carers.

Other ways to support

"Using a fundraising platform like Savoo can help greatly; as can suggesting us as a 'charity of the year' at work, undertaking a sponsored event and of course, ensuring that other families who might benefit from our help know about us."
