Age UK Exeter is a local charity committed to improving later life for everyone in Exeter. By providing life-enhancing services and vital support to older people and their families in Exeter we help to change people’s lives for the better every day.

Every week we tackle:

  • Loneliness and isolation

  • Memory difficulties

  • Poor mobility

  • Low confidence

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Information, advice and advocacy

  • Financial support through help with benefits

Age UK Exeter connects with over 5,000 older people each year and directly supports over 1,200 older people every week. We are supported by more than 250 wonderful volunteers.

2016-2017 in numbers

  • 10,731 Day Service places taken up

  • 13,365 lunches served in our café

  • 10,500 Social Activity Group Sessions attended

  • 23,000 Hours of one to one enabling support provided

  • 3,361 Enquiries to our Information and Advice service

  • 2,800 Befriending visits to isolated older people living alone

  • 4,500 Careline calls to people living alone

  • 818 Referrals to our Home from Hospital staff based at RD&E Hospital

  • 90 Families with Dementia supported

  • 11,250 visitors to our reception

  • 30,000 phone calls to our offices

  • £1,113,445 in unclaimed benefits won on behalf of local older people
