Did you know...
Heart Research UK was formed by a heart surgeon, Mr David Watson, because he was frustrated that there was not enough research carried out into heart disease. This charity funded six of the first eight successful UK heart transplants and paid for the development of a heart valve which is still being used by surgeons today.
What makes Heart Research UK different
This charity aims to support research that will benefit patients as soon as possible, and support communities to life healthier lifestyles so that they reduce their risk of heart disease.
"In fundraising we won’t knock on your door, stop you in the street or ring you to ask for donations unless we have your permission. We like a personal approach and, whether you’re a donor, volunteer or involved with Heart Research UK in others ways, we will always treat you how we would like to be treated ourselves."
