RSPCA Bedfordshire North Branch rely on the support, donations and volunteers of their local community. They rehabilitate and rehome them, ensuring they have received proper veterinary care and are going to safe and loving homes. Where possible and when funds allow the charity also supports members of the public with veterinary costs to ensure all animals are getting help they need, allowing them to stay in their family home; preventing animal neglect and abandonment.

RSPCA ran a successful neutering programme which helped members of the public in financial difficulty spay or neuter their pet cats. This worked by providing neutering vouchers to veterinary practices local to the applicant, allowing them to take their cat to be spayed or neutered.

Other ways you can support the charity

Visit their charity shop situated in Bedford Town Centre which is always in need of new donations.

They accept anything from clothes, shoes and handbags to electricals, books, dvds and bric-a-brac.

Donating a bag of unwanted items may not seem like much, but all proceeds go towards helping animals in our care.

Another way to support is by volunteering, which is largely how the charity is run. This could be by working in the shop, stockroom or doing donation collections. There are also opportunities to volunteer as a fundraiser for the charity or a foster carer for cats, rabbits and other small animals needing homes.

For ongoing support and involvement in the charity there is also a membership. This is £24 a year or £36 for a joint membership of two adults within the same household.
