The Gorilla Organization

The Gorilla Organization was first established under the name 'Digit Fund UK' by well-known pioneering primatologist Dr Dian Fossey. Dian lived among the Mountain gorillas of the Virunga Volcanoes for almost twenty years; dedicating her life to them and eventually dying trying to protect them.

Did you know...

The charity isn't just dedicated to gorilla conservation; it also focuses on tackling the root cases of endangerment threats such as habitat loss and poaching, as well as educating local people around organic farming and gorilla-friendly bee-keeping, both of which enable communities to earn a sustainable income without destroying the forest.

What makes the Gorilla Organization different

Conservation projects to save critically endangered mountain gorillas from extinction through community based sustainability projects currently run throughout Uganda, DRC and Rwanda.
