Plan your train journey online by downloading the Transport for Wales app available on Google Play or the Apple Store for free. With the app, you can enjoy a £0 booking fee and buy tickets in just a few simple steps. Plan your trips on the go and manage your bookings whilst commuting.

2 for 1 on History Landmarks

When you buy a valid same-day rail ticket, you and your companion can enjoy two entry tickets for the price of one when you visit some of the best-known Welsh landmarks. You can visit over 120 locations across the country, allowing you to make the most of your visit to Wales.

Save on Group Travel

If you are travelling in a group of 3-9 people, you can enjoy a 25% saving on standard day returns with a Small Group Ticket. If your group has ten or more people in it, get access to a 25% saving on standard fares. All members of your group need to be travelling at the same time for this fantastic saving to be eligible. Take the hassle out of booking group vacations, family trips and celebrations.

Save up to 50% when Booking in Advance

You can get up to 50% on train journeys when you book in advance. The further away you book, the bigger savings you can enjoy on train fares. Selected Advance tickets may be available the day of, but Transport for Wales recommend booking six weeks in advance for maximum savings on your trip.

Discounts for Under 30s

If you are under 30, you can travel on Transport for Wales for less. Sign up for either an 18-25 railcard or a 26-30 railcard and get 1/3 off train fares across the whole UK. People with a 16-25 railcard save on average £159, and people who signed up to a 26-30 railcard save on average £218 per year. Enjoy these huge savings by paying just £30 a year for this savings card.

Buy a Seasonal Ticket to Save on Regular Transport

If you commute to work and use the same route regularly, save money by buying a seasonal train ticket. Transport for Wales offer multiflex tickets that allow you to save on rail fare as you buy in bulk. They also offer weekly, monthly and annual seasonal tickets which will allow you to tailor your ticket to your needs, and not pay for something you will not use. If you make the same trip more than 3 times a week, seasonal tickets offer significant savings.
