Founded in 1990, Tusk Trust is a dynamic and pioneering organisation that supports the people and wildlife of Africa. The charity has built a reputation for investing in an impressive range of projects that use conservation as a tool to alleviate poverty, improve education and reduce conflict, while also protecting areas rich in biodiversity. Whether tackling the rampant illegal wildlife trade, habitat loss or human-wildlife conflict, Tusk’s success is rooted in the understanding that the interests of both people and wildlife are inextricably inter-twined, and that both must be served if success is to last.

Did you know...

Under the Royal patronage of HRH The Duke of Cambridge, Tusk has been involved in more than 100 important wildlife conservation projects with a very successful track record. These provide greater protection for 36 different threatened species in 18 countries, across an area of more than 100,000 square miles. Tusk’s projects also support more than 1million people and promote the education of over 500,000 schoolchildren.

What makes Tusk Trust different

Tusk is known for delivering well-targeted intervention, and has maintained a low cost/income that is one of the most competitive among its peers. The charity invests in the long-term in trusted and reputable partner organisations in Africa, and through the tripartite approach that combines protecting wildlife with supporting communities and promoting education Tusk achieves significant, lasting impact.

Other ways to support

Supporters can help Tusk further by taking part in a challenge event; be it running, cycling, swimming or something else altogether. Those with an adventurous spirit could compete in the Safaricom Marathon that Tusk hosts each year across the plains of Kenya. Supporters can also buy a range of merchandise from Tusk and its retail partners, or join the charity at one of its many events throughout the year.
