Age Cymru West Glamorgan has been working at the heart of communities across the City & County of Swansea for over 40 years, supporting people to live and age well.

Ageing is a part of life, but it is not something that most people prepare for. As we age, we can become increasingly isolated and things that we used to do suddenly become very challenging.

Our services support adults of all ages to live independently, make informed choices and have control of their lives.

Did you know...

Loneliness can be more harmful than smoking 15 cigarettes a day?

Research has found that people who experience regular and extended periods of loneliness are 64% more likely to develop a dementia, suffer from depression and have heart disease.

Our Befriending service is dedicated to supporting people aged 75+ in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend who are experiencing loneliness and isolation.

This project matches volunteers and clients based on shared interests, fostering a friendship that can conquer isolation.

What makes Age Cymru different

We’re committed to helping people age well. From people who need a hand managing a busy or demanding lifestyle to those who need a little extra support to help maintain their independence, we’re here to help people get the most out of life.
