Brendoncare is a charity dedicated to ensuring every older person has a positive experience of ageing. They work in communities, with those with dementia, and to provide care that is accessible for all, for life. Brendoncare operated all across the South of England, with 10 care homes from Exeter to London, and 90 social clubs across Hampshire and Dorset. In 2018 the charity opened the unique ‘Otterbourne Hill’ development which comprises a nursing home, a dementia home, apartments for couples to rent where one has a diagnosis of dementia, and a community hub to support the local community.

How donations impact the charity?

  • £10 helps a volunteer driver collect an older person and bring them to their social club.

  • £20 helps organise a training session for volunteers.

  • £50 helps organise an exercise class for older people.

You might be surprised to learn…

The ‘Care for Life’ promise means that people who live in Brendoncare’s homes will never need to leave. Even if their financial situation changes or funding runs out, the charity will pay for their care for as long as is needed.

Over 500 volunteers keep the charity going, from running the clubs, planning and running activities, driving people to appointments or clubs, or simply chatting with older people.

The oldest man in the United Kingdom lives in the close care apartments at Brendoncare Alton.
