The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. Every year we help thousands of children and families right across the country.

We provide rehabilitation both at our national specialist centre in Surrey and in the community, helping make the best recovery possible after a serious accident or illness. Our specialised school educates children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and provides transitional medical care for children with complex health needs.

Did you know...

Life can change in an instant. What can start as a completely normal day can end catastrophically – a car crash, brain haemorrhage or sporting accident can all lead to a childhood brain injury and nothing will be the same again.

Every 15 minutes a child in the UK has an accident or illness causing a brain injury. It is estimated 40,000 children and young people are left with an acquired brain injury after an accident each year in the UK

What makes The Children's Trust different

The Children’s Trust has over 30 years' experience working with children with acquired brain injury and we are the only paediatric centre with a National Specialist Commissioning Contract with the NHS to provide specific brain injury rehabilitation.

Our ambition is to become a leading research centre so that children with brain injury can benefit from care, rehabilitation and education that is high quality and evidence based.

Every research project we undertake has a direct clinical impact on children with brain injury. We present our work both nationally and internationally, ensuring that other organisations working with children with brain injury can benefit.
