Caritas Anchor House is a homelessness charity based in Newham, East London. One of the most deprived boroughs in the UK, Newham has a growing homelessness crisis, and currently 1 in 24 people in the borough has nowhere to live – the highest in the country. The charity provides residential and life-skills support for single homeless adults and, by providing education and training, guidance and personal rehabilitation, their mission is to ensure that all their residents grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, self-fulfilling lives.

The charity has a holistic approach to their work, and their innovative Aspirations Programme addresses all aspects of each resident’s life, including health and wellbeing, recreational and therapeutic activities, maintaining relationships, financial management, education, volunteering, training, back-to-work preparation and support to achieve independent living.
