Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland

Hospice at Home is a local charity that provides high quality care and support to patients who have a life limiting or life threatening illness, through the provision of nursing, complementary therapy, occupational therapy, lymphoedema support, respite care and family support. Services are flexible and each patient’s care is planned on an individual basis in order to improve his, or her, quality of life. The ultimate aim of the services provided is to facilitate a peaceful and dignified death for the patient, whilst also supporting relatives and carers throughout this time and following bereavement.

Did you know...

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is one of very few independent ‘at home’ services throughout the country. This year the charity is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and the services provided and geographical area covered have greatly increased during this time. The charity needs to raise £20,000 each week to ensure the service is available.

What makes Hospice at Home different

Hospice Care is not just about buildings or services; it is a philosophy that places the patient, family and carers at the heart of care. The majority of our care is provided within the patient’s own home and we are one of the few independent ‘Hospice at Home’ services within the UK.

Other ways to support

Support can be given in many ways, from volunteering at our shops, events and office to following the organisation on Facebook or Twitter. We also encourage supporters to donate goods to our shops, take part in a challenge event in aid of Hospice at Home, join our Lottery or leave a legacy gift in your will.
